Espejo kept Ateneo alive, saving four championship points. But while the Blue Eagles leaned heavily on Espejo, the Bulldogs drew solid outings from several players with the likes of Kim Malabunga, Madz Gampong and Francis Saura.Five of Malabunga’s 10 points came off blocks while Gampong and Saura chipped in eight apiece. Gampong came up with the game’s best defensive play when he denied Espejo with a single block to close the second set.ADVERTISEMENT Volcano watch: Island fissures steaming, lake water receding Truck driver killed in Davao del Sur road accident ‘Stop romanticizing Pinoy resilience’ MOST READ P16.5-M worth of aid provided for Taal Volcano eruption victims — NDRRMC Scientists seek rare species survivors amid Australia flames Trending Articles PLAY LIST 00:50Trending Articles00:50Trending Articles01:14Alyssa Valdez stays positive despite PH loss in volleyball opener02:14Carpio hits red carpet treatment for China Coast Guard02:56NCRPO pledges to donate P3.5 million to victims of Taal eruption00:56Heavy rain brings some relief in Australia02:37Calm moments allow Taal folks some respite03:23Negosyo sa Tagaytay City, bagsak sa pag-aalboroto ng Bulkang Taal01:13Christian Standhardinger wins PBA Best Player award Green group flags ‘overkill’ use of plastic banderitas in Manila Sto. first_imgThe protest in Dublin was massiveDONEGAL TD Padraig Mac Lochlainn has hit out at people misrepresenting his party’s position on water charges. The Sinn Fein Deputy was speaking as an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 people brought Dublin to a standstill on Saturday in protest at the water tax. While some platform speakers called for people not to pay the charges, Deputy Mac Lochlainn said the Right2Water protest’s official position is that each householder should make their own decision. He also said he would not be returning the Irish Water forms to the company.“There has been some confusion around Sinn Féin’s position on water charges over recent days. It has also been misrepresented by those yet again seeking division and short term political gain for themselves,” said Deputy Mac Lochlainn. He insisted: “Be very clear though. Those families who choose not to pay or those who simply cannot pay will have the full solidarity and support of Sinn Féin.”Sinn Fein says it will axe water charges if it gets into government in 2016. In an online debate, Deputy Mac Lochlainn said he and his family had decided not to return the Irish Water forms which must be returned by the end of this month.“It’s not the individual person but the family that must make that financial decision. Many families will reluctantly decide to pay voluntarily in order to avoid hundreds of euro more of a bill because they were stung before on the household charge and property tax protest,” he said.“Our household has decided not to return the form and not to pay voluntarily. But it shouldn’t be divide and conquer.“Just because some families reluctantly pay does not mean that they are not opposed to the water charges and are excluded from joining protests like the one yesterday.“Many people who travelled to the protest yesterday may reluctantly pay.” MacLOCHLAINN HITS OUT AS 100,000 PROTEST AGAINST WATER CHARGES was last modified: October 12th, 2014 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:dublin protestPadraig MacLochlainn TDSinn Feinwater chargeswater taxeslast_img read more
